Howard Cann, Senior Managing Director and Chief Compliance Officer
Howard is Co-founder, Senior Managing Director and Chief Compliance Officer of KEMA Partners. Howard has been involved in a multitude of strategic and financing transactions including new venture start-ups, mergers and acquisitions, private capital raising and venture capital investing.
In addition to his role as Senior Managing Director and Chief Compliance Officer with KEMA Partners, Howard has served as a director, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer for many companies over the years. He currently serves as a director and Chief Financial Officer of Pacific Shaving Company, a supplier of natural and environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional shaving products. From 1981 through 2002, he was Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Planergy International Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Xcel Energy Inc., engaged in the alternative energy industry.
In 1981, Howard founded Cogeneration Capital Associates, a registered Broker Dealer, and Cogeneration Capital Fund, energy start-up venture fund, both of which were focused on the alternative energy industry. Prior to founding those firms, Howard established a specialized financial services company serving the electric utility industry arranging over three billion dollars in non-conventional financing.
Howard received an MBA in Corporate Finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Michael Cann, Managing Director
Mike is a Co-founder and Managing Director of KEMA Partners. In addition to his role with KEMA Partners, Mike is Founder and President of WineCountry Media, which owns and operates the WineCountry Network, the leading online destination for wine country travel and lifestyle. Prior to WineCountry Media, Mike was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of TapDynamics, the leading provider of beverage data analytics services to the hospitality industry. In his role as CEO, Mike raised over $6 million in capital and led the sales, strategic and marketing efforts. TapDynamics’ clients and strategic partnerships include hospitality industry leaders such as Applebee’s, Ruby Tuesday and In-Bev Anheuser-Busch.
Mike also spent 15 years as an investment banker. Mike spent 11 years at Banc of America Securities focusing on investment banking coverage of the financial institutions, general industrial, business services and technology industries. Mike’s strategic advisory and capital raising experience includes over $17 billion in aggregate transaction value including public and private debt and equity financing’s as well as mergers and acquisitions advisory assignments.
Mike received a BS in Communications from Syracuse University.
Peter Cann, Managing Director and Compliance Officer
Peter Cann is a Managing Director of KEMA Partners serving as a Compliance Offer and Head of it Business Development Strategy. Before joining KEMA Partners, Peter worked for the investment banking division of Barclays Bank where he spent the majority of his time working in their securitized products division. Peter brings 15 years of experience in the fixed income capital markets, establishing and cultivating trusting partnerships with top institutions.
Peter holds a dual BA in Economics and Spanish from Bucknell University.
Brandon D. Lewis, Managing Director
Mr. Lewis has more than 17 years of experience in the finance and life sciences sectors, advising governments, public and private institutions, and emerging companies from around the globe. Brandon has demonstrated success in identifying undervalued opportunities and unlocking hidden value for both partners and clients. He has advised over 100 public and private companies across the globe, ranging in size and stage of development, and meet their respective investor relations’ objectives.
Brandon was a founder and member of the management committee Trout Capital LLC, member FINRA/SIPC, an affiliate of Trout Group LLC, a world leader in strategic investor relations. He established Trout’s market presence through development of investment policies and due diligence best practices, while formulating the firm’s initial tactical plan and business development strategy. He cultivated extensive relationships in both the corporate and investment community while building a strong pipeline of potential transactions. Brandon developed the firm’s domestic and international presence within the corporate and institutional communities to expand its reach into the UK, EU, CA, Australia, India and Asia.
Brandon received an M.B.A. in Finance from the Stern School of Business, New York University.
